DESCRIPTION:Why are diversity\, equity\, and inclusion so critical for educational environments\, and what is the role of an independent school board when it comes to fostering and supporting a school’s commitment to these principles? This one-hour virtual conference will provide a rationale\, framework\, and actionable “what now?” steps that boards can take\, both to assess where they are and to move forward as stewards of diversity\, equity\, and inclusion in their school communities. We will identify vital governance responsibilities\, including cultivating these principles within the board itself\, and explore effective structures and practices for school leadership. \nAlison Park is the founder of Blink\, a consultancy that has partnered with schools\, non-profits\, corporations\, and government agencies across the country to advance their commitments and impacts in diversity\, equity\, and inclusion.
