Trustees play a unique and crucially important role as both cheerleaders and authority figures in a school. As Chair, you are responsible for helping your Trustees be prepared to navigate conversations with community members on controversial topics ranging from curriculum change to “culture war” issues to political polarization. As we begin a new school year, consultant and former HOS Julie Faulstich will deliver communication strategies that you can use with your trustees to meet our current moment. She will offer practical advice on how trustees can engage with constituents in a productive and empathetic way while maintaining appropriate boundaries for their role in supporting the success of the school.
