Board chairs play a critical role in supporting and evaluating the Head of School—one that requires both thoughtful partnership and clear accountability. This session will explore the chair’s role in providing timely, constructive feedback throughout the year while leading a meaningful, goal-aligned annual evaluation process.

The session will also address how to frame feedback conversations in ways that balance motivation and support with accountability, align leadership evaluation with the school’s strategic priorities, and strengthen communication and trust within the Chair–Head partnership.

Chairs will leave with practical tools and a clear framework for fostering continuous feedback, supporting the Head’s professional growth, and leading a thoughtful evaluation process that benefits both the Head and the school.
