We will explore the “why and how” of timely feedback and thoughtful head evaluation, and outline key considerations in designing a dynamic process that supports healthy board-head partnership and creates conditions for professional growth and support, for both Heads and Boards. We will address important questions including: how to set goals and expectations; how and when to gather feedback; who participates in the process; how evaluation and feedback might evolve for new heads versus long-serving heads; and how to balance formative and summative feedback. Finally, we’ll explore the powerful intersection between head evaluation and board evaluation, and how an aligned approach for feedback and assessment drives a strong partnership.
