The success of any school’s DEI plan requires the thoughtful and purposeful engagement of the Board of Trustees who are uniquely positioned to advance DEI efforts. Determining the best use of the board’s organizational structure can be an important factor in the successful execution of the school’s DEI initiatives. This presentation will examine the critical function of trustee members and answer questions such as:
· How does the board launch a DEI committee and should it?
· What is the role of the DEI committee?
· How should it be organized?

Participants will leave with practical strategies for immediate implementation that will positively alter the trajectory of all students, particularly those from marginalized groups.
