One of the greatest resources a Board Chair can have is another Chair who understands the opportunities—and challenges—of the role.  ISCA’s Board Chair Peer Groups bring together small groups of Chairs who share a similar leadership context, creating a trusted space to connect, exchange ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another throughout the school year.

Each Peer Group is guided by facilitators whose governance experience and leadership perspective help create meaningful dialogue, shared learning, and connection among peers.

First-Year Board Chairs

For Chairs navigating their first year in the role and the many new responsibilities, relationships, and decisions that come with it.

Small School Chairs

For Chairs whose schools have an enrollment of <300 and face the distinctive opportunities and challenges of governing a smaller independent school.

Chairs Navigating Head of School Transitions

For Chairs whose schools are at an important moment of leadership transition—whether welcoming and building a partnership with a new Head of School (HOS) this year or anticipating a search for their school’s next Head. This group provides an opportunity to connect with other Chairs navigating the unique board leadership responsibilities that accompany these transitions. This group will be divided into 2 breakout groups for Chairs with a new HOS and Chairs anticipating a HOS search.

Chairs of Boarding Schools

For Chairs interested in connecting around the particular governance considerations and leadership dynamics of boarding schools.
